About the Role

As a SQL Data Analyst, you will be wearing multiple hats, playing a crucial role in analyzing subscription program performance and turning data into actionable insights that drive business success. You’ll work closely with internal teams to create custom reports, leveraging your SQL expertise to uncover trends and support strategic decisions.

While your main focus will be on data analysis and reporting, there will also be opportunities to get hands-on with Shopify theme edits and apply basic Liquid or CSS changes to supporti new customer onboarding. If you’re passionate about data and eager to learn new tools, this role offers the perfect balance of technical analysis and creative problem-solving.

At Relay we provide you with a support structure and set clear goals, and how you achieve them is up to you. A typical day could consist of replying to technical support tickets on the intercom, creating escalations, working with other departments and brands within the portfolio, hosting product demos for potential customers, and working on personal or assigned projects. You will frequently troubleshoot technical issues, debug errors, assist with Shopify app installations, and use developer tools to support customers.

This role is fully remote, and candidates must be based in Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, or the UK. You should have a reliable internet connection and a workspace that allows you to collaborate effectively with teams across different time zones.

About the Product

Smartrr is a powerful subscription management and loyalty platform within the Relay suite, designed to help e-commerce brands drive predictable, recurring revenue. This product enables merchants to offer flexible subscription models, streamline post-purchase engagement, and improve customer retention with built-in loyalty and referral features.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the customer success team with data insights from customers' subscription program performance.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success and customers to create custom reports in Looker using advanced SQL queries.
  • Proactively create new reports to reveal new insights for quarterly business reviews with key customers.

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably in e-commerce or B2B SaaS.
  • Proficiency in Shopify theme development and customization with Liquid.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience in Looker or other BI tools for reporting and data visualization.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to generate meaningful insights for business decisions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights.
  • Experience with data manipulation tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or similar.
  • Business acumen to understand and apply insights to business needs.
  • Proven experience in JavaScript and CSS is a plus.
  • Our teams cover multiple time zones. Leadership and support structures will be in place but qualified candidates must have a proven track recording of being resourceful and self-sufficient.
