About This Role
We're looking for a freelance Merch Design Manager to lead the creative direction and rollout of our product collections and storefronts. This isn’t a hands-on design role (though design skills are a bonus). It’s about vision, taste, and curating collections that resonate and look good. You’ll be managing product rollouts and will be the last set of eyes before anything touches a storefront.

- Language & Culture Fit: First-language fluency in North-American English, though we don’t care where you are in the world. Plus a good intuition for that sells in that cultural market.
- You run on self-discipline: You don’t need someone looking over your shoulder . Whether it’s your work or your work ethic, you hold yourself (and your team) to high standards and keep all projects and responsibilities on track.
- Organization is your superpower: You keep timelines, files, and feedback flowing so nothing falls through the cracks.
- You communicate like a pro: Clear, and friendly - your WhatsApp messages, Notion comments, vision boards and feedback always hit the mark.
- Obsessive eye: For typography, color harmony, and layout. Even if you’ve never opened Photoshop Illustrator, you know what looks good and what is appealing to buyers.
- Style sense: You can spot a killer layout, a trending font, colors, or a design that just “works” (and you know why).
- Design intuition: You understand what makes visuals appealing and marketable, even if you’re not a hands-on designer.
- Marketplace Savvy: Familiar with Etsy/Amazon or any POD platform (bonus: you’ve managed a storefront).
No fancy degree required. If you can spot a winning design and explain “why,” we’re listening.
Some Typical Things You Will Be Doing
- Review ideas, plan and manage the design and rollout process for our team - Including design placement, colors, product choices, and choosing mockup templates that best showcase the product.
- Coordinate and instruct graphic designers to bring various designs to life. Bonus: if you’re also a proficient designer, you can design for us as well.
- Review designs and provide fast, clear feedback and reference boards when needed.
- Approve final graphics, mockups, and listings to ensure visual and functional quality
- Keep storefronts looking current and cohesive.

Pay Range
Compensation: Starting at $15-25 USD /hr (with room to scale towards $30 with proven impact).
*Offer dependant on on experience, skills, and location. Exceptional candidates may be considered above this range.
